MONOPOLY
The activity ‘Monopoly’ uses the classic board game of monopoly to gently introduce students to a variety of economic ideas. It is always a fun and enjoyable activity that really makes students think about the economic decisions offering by the Department of Economics. The activity will provide a platform to the students and help them learn different economic systems like capitalism, socialism, and communism in a fun manner.
Registration fee – No fee for school students, Rs. 200/- per student for college-going.
First Prize: Rs. 2000.
Second Prize: Rs. 1000.
Participation certificates will be given to all.
The theme of the event:
Investment Choice: Many teenagers dream of transforming the world, they wish for a prosperous world, but don’t know how and when to start. This is especially true for underdeveloped and developing countries like ours. The nature of prosperity is one of the fundamental questions of our time.
This workshop through playing the Monopoly game will dive into the past, present, and future of this theme and raise some fundamental questions like- What is the fundamental purpose of an economy? What are real wealth, beyond stocks and shares and house prices? What makes a good life and it is even possible to measure this? If so then who gets to decide?
Nature: Competition followed by Workshop
Duration: 1 hour
Rules:
- Participation in the event will be individuals.
- Students of grade 9 and above and college students.
- They will first take part in the game and the workshop will follow.
